For once (in a revealed sense) my mashpia knows what I'm thinking?

Been trying recently to have a serious conversation with my mashpia.
I text him today, "can I call you tonight?"
He responds, "I will be in Crown Heights... we'll speak in person."
I see him. He immediately knows what it is that I wanted to talk about and broaches the subject.
IY"H soon I will be entering a brand new tekufah!

Also, a friend from home, and the owner of the pickup trick which we will use for the sukkah mobile, was in for a wedding. We had a preliminary meeting about sukkos mivtzoim and spoke about how everything will work this upcoming sukkos if CH"V Moshiach should not redeem us beforehand. With Hashem's help this year's mivztoim will be more organised and more productive and more outreaching than ever.

Goodnight Blogovelt!

What is love?

"What is love? Baby don't hurt me"

This is the chorus to the 1993 song by Haddaway, later popularized by the 1998 hit move "Night at the Roxbury"

I was sitting learning in 770 when this song suddenly came into my head.
"Why has this entered into my head?" I thought as I sat learning Chitas.
I began to think deeply on this trivial thing (ADD will do that to you.)
I was reminded of the 42nd chapter of Tanya where the Alter Rebbe explains that even though fearing Hashem is connected to moving away from evil, however, it is impossible to serve Hashem at all, without first prefacing fear. That means that one can not do anything meaningful out of love without first respecting Hashem and not wanting to go against his will. The same can be said of interpersonal relationships. One can not love another if one is willing to do do that which is harmful or not in the best interest of the other person.
Hashem should give us the strength to treat each other with love, and not chas v'shalom do anything hurtful to one another.

We should have ahavas chinam, and as The Rebbe mentions in many sichos, when the reason is nullified the effects are nullified, and since the underlying reason for our golus is sinas chinam, when that will be rectified, surely the geulah shelaima will come, with Hashem's help and our effort, immediately!

A midsummer's night eve... In brooklyn

No fireflies,
Firetrucks flying by,
No stars,
Wannabes,
The only constant: I am awake at this hour.

Shtetl Vision Exclusive: A fixture in 770 replaced!

You read it here first folks, a fixture in 770 has been replaced! The old water fountain, which I recently commented to a friend, "this has to be one of the world water fountains I have ever drinken from," has been replaced by a water machine reminiscent of those found in offices. Pictures tommorow maybe.
