Shabbos in Jersey

Spent Shabbos in Jersey.
First time since Eretz Yisroel that I walked into a supermarket and saw so many Jews in one place. So Geshmake.

Random tip to anyone who ever plans on having guests in the future:

Don't put a huge bottle of mashke on your table and then not say l'chaim or ask your guests if they want. So not classy.

If you use plasticware and your guest's fork breaks and you say you are going to get him/her another... dont come back from the kitchen without one. I don't want to embarass you and draw attention to your blunder.

fun facts:

Next friday I will turn 21 according to the gentile reckoning of years.
I am not sure if I should get a nice-ish bottle of white or yellow.
I share a birthday with famed NY Mets catcher Mike Piazza.
I share a birthday and birth year with one of my best friends.

Leaving

in 15 minutes.
We found this thing that will let me plug my laptop in while in the car so I should be able to entertain myself with sports games and such.

Last night in dixie

In less than 24 hours I will be leaving Dixieland.

Last affairs to get in order:
Some banking
Buy some new pants and shirts
Buy some random accessories at Target/Walmart
pack everything
Leave

:-X

Then its a loooong road trip.
I dunno what I'm going to do for entertainment though. I only have a few CD's on my MP3 player. Maybe I will just listen to alot of Yossie Paltiel Tanya shiurim. Then I will sleep. Then I will look out the window. Then I will go crazy.

I am not usually averse at all to road trips. I think they are fun. The difference here is that it will be my my father and my sibling (who is going to college) instead of me and friends.
Pray for my sanity.

I know it will all be worth it though. Thinking about the end will definately make it easier during.

Welcome

Welcome!
The following post doesn't contain anything particularly interesting or compelling just some background info.

Age: About to turn 21
Gender: Bochur
Occupation: Bochur

Grew up religious affiliated with Chabad.
Went to a Modox highschool.
Was one of the trouble makers and controversial students.
Went to a yeshiva in Israel for those who have "strayed from the path."
Stayed two years and then moved on to a large litvisher yeshiva.
In the mean time I had been hanging out with lubavitcher bochurim and attending farbrengens.
On Chai Elul 5768 I decided I needed to leave said yeshiva as soon as possible.
I left at the end of Elul and due to certain circumstances + my own laziness I basically did nothing this past year.
I'm finally going to a lubavitcher yeshiva about a year after I decided I need to.
More elucidation to come at a later time.

Things I am excited about:

Learning gemara seriously.
The tri-state area. (Everyone I know my age will be within those borders)
Snow and frozen things hopefully.
Being within convenient traveling distance of The Rebbe's Ohel.
Yeshiva lifestyle

Things I am nervous about:

Learning chassidus seriously
(I dont get Chassidus the way I get nigleh... am I broken? :-P)
Meeting new people
Expectaions

What I intend to write about:

Whatever occurs to me.
